Ondo declares public holiday for Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration, lifts sanitation day movement restriction

Ondo State Government has declared Monday, February 24, 2025, a public holiday to enable residents to participate in the inauguration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor, Olayide Owolabi Adelami.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Friday, in Akure.

The work-free day will allow citizens to take part in the various activities marking the swearing-in ceremony.

In addition, Governor Aiyedatiwa has directed the cancellation of the usual restriction of movement during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Despite the lifting of movement restrictions, residents are still encouraged to clean their surroundings as part of efforts to maintain environmental hygiene across the state.
