Ondo State took a bold step towards economic expansion on Thursday as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa officially commissioned the Investment House in Akure.

The landmark edifice, designed as a one-stop shop for investment activities, is expected to improve the ease of doing business and position the state as a prime destination for investors.

Governor Aiyedatiwa hailed the commissioning as a significant milestone in Ondo’s economic transformation, crediting the late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for conceptualising the initiative.

He noted that Akeredolu’s vision was to create a central hub where investors could seamlessly engage with government agencies and private-sector stakeholders to facilitate business growth.

The Governor affirmed that the completion of the project was a testament to his administration’s dedication to seeing through inherited initiatives, thereby preventing resource wastage and fostering sustainable development.

The newly commissioned Investment House, strategically located in the heart of Akure, will serve as a focal point for economic engagement, opening doors for global investors and fostering robust partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Governor Aiyedatiwa urged its occupants to ensure the facility is properly maintained, stressing that preserving such infrastructure is a collective responsibility.

At the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Olawoye Ayorinde Abiola, commended the governor’s commitment to innovation and enterprise development, highlighting that the initiative will equip young entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to thrive.

Similarly, Emmanuel Omomowo, Administrative Secretary of the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), described the project as a game-changer in the administration’s broader mission to attract investments and stimulate economic prosperity.

In a parallel effort to enhance public safety, Governor Aiyedatiwa also handed over newly acquired firefighting trucks to the Ondo State Fire Service.

Addressing attendees at the ceremony, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to disaster preparedness, stating that an efficient fire service is crucial to protecting communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

He assured that the government would continue to invest in modern equipment and personnel training to strengthen emergency response capabilities.

Governor Aiyedatiwa charged firefighters and emergency responders to make optimal use of the new trucks, delivering swift and professional services to the people of Ondo State.
