President Tinubu congratulates Aruna Quadri on ITTF Africa Cup victory

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday congratulated Nigeria’s table tennis champion, Aruna Quadri, on his impressive victory at the 2024 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Africa Cup in Rwanda.

Quadri’s win marks a remarkable achievement, as he reclaims his title and solidifies his position as Africa’s table tennis champion.

In a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu praised Quadri’s unwavering dedication to excellence, even in the face of adversity.

He highlighted the qualities that define Nigerians, including their zeal for distinction, hardiness to succeed, and inventiveness in solving complex problems.

The President also acknowledged the recent successes in Nigeria’s sports sector, including notable performances in the African Games, the Africa Cup of Nations, and the World Relay Championships.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering the growth and development of sports in the country.

President Tinubu further assured Nigerians that his administration remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for the country’s creative youths across various fields.

He posited that this support will enable them to showcase their talents and bring pride to Nigeria on the global stage.

The statement added that: “Quadri’s victory is a testament to the talent and determination of Nigerian athletes, and the President’s recognition of his achievement serves as a motivation for others to strive for excellence.”
