The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has suspended Acting National Chairman, Amb. Illiya Damagum and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu due to alleged anti-party activities.

In a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the leading opposition party said the decision follows complaints regarding a letter the duo sent to the Court of Appeal, contradicting the party’s stance in a case involving former Rivers State House of Assembly members who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The suspension is based on violations of the PDP Constitution and their Oath of Office.

Damagum and Anyanwu will face the National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
