In a sweeping affirmation of his mandate, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has been congratulated for his emphatic victory at the Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed challenges to his election from several opposition parties.

Dr Seun Osamaye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, in a statement released from Akure, lauded the governor and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, for what she described as a “resounding victory” that reaffirms the trust reposed in them by the people of Ondo State.

The tribunal’s dismissal of petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action Alliance (AA), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) against the outcome of the November 16, 2024, governorship election was hailed by Dr Osamaye as a testament to the legitimacy and popularity of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

“The verdict is a clear indication of the people’s confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership,” she said, praising the governor’s performance since assuming office.

According to her: “His first 100 days have been marked by significant infrastructural strides and a strong commitment to the welfare of women and children.”

She further described the judgement as a “milestone” not only for the Governor and his deputy, but also for the entire All Progressives Congress (APC) family, stating: “I want to congratulate the Governor of our Ease, Odatiwa, Odirorun, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, and the entire APC on this well-deserved triumph. I am confident that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership will continue to bring prosperity and growth to Ondo State.”
