The Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas and Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, has assured Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of his people’s support ahead of the November 16 governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa visited the Deji’s palace with his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and top party members on Friday, to pay homage and garner support from voters in Akure South Local Government.
While addressing the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who accompanied the governor to the palace, Oba Aladelusi praised Aiyedatiwa’s pedigree, humility, and support for Akure kingdom’s development.
He urged Aiyedatiwa to sustain infrastructural projects, especially road construction and street solar lights.
Specifically, the monarch requested construction of roads leading to the Oba’s market to facilitate trade and transactions.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the traditional ruler that his administration would prioritize Akure’s beautification and initiate more infrastructural projects, especially road construction, if re-elected.
He ememphasised Akure’s peaceful nature and pledged to restructure the state budget to support development.
Aiyedatiwa encouraged the people to vote for him on November 16th, saying, “You have seen me and know what I am up to… The voice of kings is just like God’s voice.”
