Ondo guber election: APC leads in 15 of 18 LGAs as collation nears completion

Collation of results from 15 out of the 18 local government areas in the Ondo State Governorship Election, held on Saturday, November 16, has been completed.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), is leading in the released results, winning in areas such as Ifedore, Ondo East, Ileoluji/Okeigbo, Idanre, Irele, Akoko South-West, Owo, Ondo West, Akoko South-East, Akoko North-West, Ose, Akure South, Akoko North-East, Akure North, and Okitipupa.

So far, the APC has garnered a total of 301,113 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trails with 97,051 votes.

Results from three remaining local government areas – Odigbo, Ilaje, and Ese-Odo are still being awaited.

The collation process is being supervised by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Also present at the collation centre are the Ondo State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, National Commissioners, political party agents, members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCESS), observers, and security personnel.
