Ondo gears up for Gov Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration with week-long festivities

Ondo State is set to host a series of events to mark the inauguration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Owolabi Adelami, culminating in the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The Inauguration Steering Committee has announced a detailed schedule of activities leading up to the historic event.

The celebrations will begin on Friday, February 21, with a Jumat Service at Akure Central Mosque at 1pm, bringing together the Muslim community in prayer and reflection.

On Saturday, February 22, the focus will shift to Ondo State’s tourism sector with a Beach Sunsplash at Araromi Seaside in Ilaje Local Government Area at 11 am.

Governor Aiyedatiwa is set to address a World Press Conference at the event, highlighting the state’s coastal tourism potential.

Religious observances will continue on Sunday, February 23, with a Church Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, at 10am.

The service is expected to draw political leaders, religious figures, and members of the public in a solemn gathering of gratitude.

The swearing-in ceremony on Monday, February 24, will take place at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, at 10am, where Governor Aiyedatiwa and Dr Adelami will officially assume office.

Dignitaries, political stakeholders, and citizens are anticipated to witness the historic transition.

To round off the festivities, an Inauguration Gala Night and Book Presentation will be held at The Dome, Akure, at 6 pm.

The event will serve as an opportunity to celebrate the new administration’s vision and reflect on Ondo State’s future.
