The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has received the two Kaduna-based journalists, AbdulGafar Alabelewe and AbdulRaheem Aodu, who were recently abducted from their homes.
The minister commended the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and security agencies for their swift action in rescuing the victims, including Alabelewe’s wife and two children.
Mohammed expressed sympathy to the families and urged Nigerians to have faith in the current administration and security agencies, who are working tirelessly to ensure the safe release of all kidnapped victims without ransom.
The NSA attributed the successful rescue operation to the combined effort of security agencies, which led to a swift search and rescue mission.
One of the rescued victims, Alabelewe, thanked the NSA and his team for their prompt intervention, expressing hope and confidence in the government’s commitment to tackling kidnapping.
The minister’s reception of the freed journalists highlights the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens, particularly media professionals.
