Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has flagged off the construction of a 1,000-meter concrete walkway and jetty at Obe-Nla community in Ilaje Local Government Area.
The project, which includes streetlights, aims to provide a safe and durable infrastructure for residents.
Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life in riverine areas, acknowledging the community’s long-standing demand for a concrete walkway.
He highlighted other ongoing projects, including road construction, electricity infrastructure, and the coastal highway from Lagos to Calabar being sponsored by the Federal Government.
The Governor assured that OSOPADEC will receive the statutory 40% of the 13% Oil Derivation Fund to expedite projects in Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas.

The Chairman of OSOPADEC, Mr. Sam Erejuwa, praised the Governor’s vision to enhance connectivity and quality of life in the riverine area.
Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan, commended the Governor’s commitment to rapid development in oil-producing communities.
“This project marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to transform the region’s infrastructure and improve the lives of its residents,” he said.
