FG declares public holidays for Easter celebration

The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025 as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and conveyed through a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.

Tunji-Ojo extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the country, urging them to reflect on and embody the values of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ in his death for humanity’s redemption.

He further called on all Nigerians to use the holiday period as a time of reflection and prayer for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.

The Minister also reassured citizens of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national growth and sustainable development.

In addition, Tunji-Ojo encouraged Nigerians to show love and compassion to one another through acts of kindness and generosity during the festive period.

He concluded by wishing Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, and extended his best wishes to all Nigerians for a restful and meaningful holiday.
