Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has declared his firm support for the re-election bid of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, while also drumming up momentum for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term ambition.

Aiyedatiwa made the declaration on Monday, at a major All Progressives Congress (APC) rally held at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.

Addressing a crowd of party leaders, stakeholders and enthusiastic supporters, Aiyedatiwa lauded Governor Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO, for his “visionary leadership” and “visible developmental strides” across Ekiti State.

He urged the people to reward Oyebanji with another term in office to consolidate his achievements.

“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term,” Aiyedatiwa said, drawing parallels with the 2024 governorship election in Ondo State where the APC swept all 18 local government areas.

Turning attention to national politics, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the support of all 23 APC-controlled states for President Tinubu’s second term bid, stating that the “Renewed Hope” agenda must be sustained beyond 2027.

He described the South West as the launchpad for Tinubu’s re-election drive, saying the region would remain central to the realisation of the president’s vision for Nigeria.

In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji expressed deep appreciation for the show of solidarity, describing the moment as “historic and reassuring.”

He praised the prevailing unity within the APC in Ekiti State and said it reflected the party’s collective resolve to continue delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

Oyebanji also urged citizens to prepare for the upcoming voter registration exercise and assured that his administration would work with the appropriate agencies to ensure a seamless process for all eligible voters.

The rally was also attended by several political heavyweights from Ondo State, including former Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde (Abena), Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Seun Osamaye, and the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Mr. Smart Omodumbi.
