In a bold move to strengthen security operations across Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has distributed 50 Toyota Hilux operational vehicles to various security agencies.
The presentation ceremony, which took place at the Government House Grounds in Akure on Wednesday, marked a key highlight of the Governor’s first 100 days in office.
Addressing dignitaries, security personnel, and government officials, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property.

He described the vehicle distribution as a vital investment in the state’s security infrastructure and a clear statement of intent by his government to proactively address security challenges.
“This event underscores our administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency and capacity of our security agencies to respond to any security alert or acts of criminality in the State,” the Governor stated.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the state’s development agenda tagged OUR EASE, which prioritises security and collaboration among stakeholders.

The Governor recalled that in July 2024, his administration had distributed 25 similar vehicles, emphasising that the current presentation was a continuation of that effort to provide logistical support to frontline operatives.
“These vehicles are a token of our appreciation for your dedication and service,” Aiyedatiwa said, while urging the beneficiaries to deploy them for patrols, emergency response, and other security operations.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, in his welcome remarks, highlighted the administration’s resolve not to treat security matters with levity.

He noted that the disbursement of operational vehicles was a demonstration of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s determination to maintain law and order, as well as to meet the demands of the social contract with the people.
The Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, who spoke on behalf of the security agencies, assured that the vehicles would be put to proper and effective use.
He pledged that the gesture would enhance rapid response efforts and improve overall security operations across the state.

Also speaking, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, commended the government for its continuous support.
He noted that the new vehicles would ease mobility challenges and significantly boost operational efficiency.
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, described the distribution as a giant stride in addressing the mobility constraints faced by security personnel.

He lauded the Governor for responding to concerns raised by communities regarding the challenges encountered by security operatives.
In a vote of thanks delivered on behalf of the security agencies, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Oluseyi Okenla, who represented the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olusola, praised the Governor for his steadfast commitment to public safety and for providing the tools needed to safeguard lives and property.

The event was attended by top government officials including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip; members of the State House of Assembly and Executive Council; political appointees; and heads of security agencies.
