The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, widely known as Portable, wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack against government officials carrying out their lawful duties.
The police, in a statement released on February 17, 2025, said the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office were enforcing regulations at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
During the exercise, the officials, identified as Tpl Onabanjo Abidemi, Tpl Raymond Lateef, and Tpl Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, approached an elderly man later identified as Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar, requesting an approved building plan.
The father responded that his son was unavailable. Shortly afterward, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, and led a group of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed officials.
The enforcement officers sustained various injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which later transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
While nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices were arrested, the singer fled and has remained in hiding.
The police revealed that they sent multiple invitations to him, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, but he deliberately ignored them without cause or legal representation.
Following his continued evasion, the police obtained a valid court order for his arrest and have now declared him wanted.
They have urged the public to provide any valuable information that could lead to his immediate arrest, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring the singer will face legal consequences.
This latest development adds to the series of controversies surrounding Portable, who has previously clashed with law enforcement.
However, with a court order now in effect, the authorities are intensifying efforts to bring him to justice.
The Ogun State Police Command has advised citizens to report any relevant information to the nearest police station or contact them through official communication channels.
