From John Dike, Osogbo
Dr. Adekunle Omoyele, the newly appointed Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Security Outfit, has warned criminals to reform or face the full force of the law.
Omoyele, who assumed duty recently, said his aim is to ensure citizens sleep safely with their eyes closed.
He appealed for public collaboration and information to tackle crime.
According to him, “to achieve this, Amotekun will work with other security agencies, and operatives will undergo training and retraining, including military and police training, weaponry, and combatant training.
“Tactical squads, anti-bomb, and anti-cultism units will also be formed.”
He disclosed that regarding recruitment, a proposal has been sent to Governor Ademola Adeleke for approval.
Omoyele praised the governor’s commitment to safety and security.
Reacting to reports of his indictment by the #ENDSARS panel, Omoyele dismissed the allegations as frivolous and unfounded, stating he was never invited by the panel and has a clean record.
He urged the public to disregard the allegations and support him in his mission to ensure a crime-free society.
He revealed that under his leadership, Amotekun will prioritize civil conduct, and any personnel found wanting will face disciplinary action.
Omoyele expressed confidence in his team, including the newly appointed chairman, AIG Abass (RTD), and his wealth of experience.
