The African Natural Resources & Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) 2024 is poised to unlock Africa’s mineral wealth for sustainable economic growth, according to Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake.
The summit, scheduled for July 16-18 in Abuja, will unite government officials, private sector stakeholders, and industry experts to drive economic prosperity and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With the theme “Natural Resources for Economic Development,” the summit aims to empower marginalized communities and utilize fossil fuel revenues to fund a transition to cleaner energy.

Dr. Alake emphasized the significance of Africa’s natural resources in driving economic prosperity and urged the media to project Nigeria as a favorable investment destination.
Organized in partnership with Core International Mining Company, the summit will feature bilateral meetings focused on value addition to ensure maximum benefit from Africa’s vast mineral resources.
As the pioneer chairman of the African Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG), Dr. Alake is committed to setting the pace for sustainable exploitation of mineral resources and driving concerted action towards value addition.
The AFNIS 2024 summit promises to be a pivotal moment in Africa’s journey towards harnessing its mineral resources for sustainable development.
