The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered a stolen motorcycle in Ogbese following swift action by operatives acting on intelligence from community security volunteers.
According to the Command, officers of the Ogbese Division were alerted after receiving credible information that two individuals were in possession of an unregistered TVS motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.
The suspects were intercepted and questioned, but they reportedly failed to provide any proof of ownership or relevant documentation.
The two men, identified as Aduku Moses and Kunle Agboola, later confessed during interrogation that they had stolen the motorcycle in Ekiti State and brought it to Ogbese in Ondo State with the intention of selling it.
Police confirmed that the motorcycle has been recovered, urging members of the public who may have recently lost a motorcycle to visit the Ogbese Division with valid proof of ownership for possible identification.
The Ondo State Police Command warned that criminals, regardless of where they come from, will be tracked down and made to face justice.
It stressed that even if offenders flee the state, they will not escape the long arm of the law.
The Commissioner of Police commended local vigilante groups and other non-state actors whose cooperation continues to play a crucial role in crime prevention and tackling insecurity across the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Command said it will continue to strengthen community partnerships and enforce measures aimed at ensuring a secure environment for all residents of Ondo State.
