Ondo govt mourns late SSG, Oluwatuyi

Ondo State government has announced the tragic passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). He died at an undisclosed hospital, on Saturday.

Hon. Oluwatuyi succumbed to injuries sustained in a car accident that occurred on December 15, 2024 while he was travelling to Ibadan.

Despite being hospitalised following the accident, he sadly did not recover.

The state government in a statement announcing the demise of the late SSG and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, described Oluwatuyi as a distinguished public servant whose dedication to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation left a lasting mark on Ondo State.

According to the statement: “Known for his unwavering commitment to excellence, he worked closely with the Governor and other top officials across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), playing a pivotal role in advancing the state’s development.

“Over the years, Hon. Oluwatuyi held several significant positions within the Ondo State Government.

“His career included serving as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as the Secretary to the State Government.

“His contributions to the governance and growth of Ondo State earned him widespread respect and admiration.

“The Government of Ondo State expressed its deepest condolences to the Oluwatuyi family of Akure, as well as his friends and associates, during this period of immense grief.

“Hon. Oluwatuyi’s legacy of service and leadership will be remembered fondly by those who worked with him and by the people of Ondo State.”
