Controversy surrounding the alleged forgery of the signature of ailing Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has finally become an official matter begin for attention.
The latest development on the matter became public knowledge on Friday, when a letter written on the forgery of Akeredolu’s signature was obtained by newsmen in Akure, the state capital.
The letter was written by the state Commissioner for Energy, Mr Rasaq Obe, and addressed to the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
In the letter dated December 7, 2023 Razaq Obe informed the Deputy Governor of alleged forgery of Governor Akeredolu’s signature on official document pertaining to his ministry.
He stated that having noticed some irregularities in the signature and handwriting of Akeredolu, compared to the known signatures and handwriting of the Governor in the file, he decided to seek a forensic review, which eventually confirmed his suspicion.
The Commissioner appealed to Aiyedatiwa, being the highest ranking cabinet member after the governor, to investigate and take appropriate actions to address the situation.
