Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Wednesday expressed the readiness of his ministry to partner relevant institutions in the country for efficient service delivery.
Tunji-Ojo said the step was geared towards enhancing the capacity of men and officers of the Nigeria Immigration Services and other agencies under his ministry.
This disclosure was made when he received a delegation from the University of Abuja, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah.
The minister stressed the need to work with the Centre for Migration Studies of the University of Abuja, to enhance the capacity of officers in line with international best practices.
He noted that the Interior Ministry under his watch would leave no stone unturned towards addressing the various anomalies affecting it’s smooth operation.
The minister further stressed the need for an improved research to proffer solutions to the nation’s challenges.
According to him: “Undoubtedly, the academic community is an integral component of nation building. Our growth as a nation can directly be measured by the level of investment we devote to research and development.”
