The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has extended its warm congratulations to Mr Idowu Ajanaku on his appointment and inauguration as the new Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ondo State.
In a statement jointly signed by the Council’s Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and Secretary, Comrade Olaoluwa Meshack, the union expressed strong confidence in Ajanaku’s ability to lead the ministry effectively, describing him as a seasoned journalist and media strategist with the requisite experience to elevate the state’s information machinery.
According to the statement, Mr Ajanaku’s deep-rooted background in journalism and public communication makes him exceptionally suited for the role.
The NUJ leadership affirmed that his wealth of knowledge and professional track record would enable him to harness media potentials across the state and beyond to advance public enlightenment and socio-political development.
The union pledged its full cooperation with the newly appointed commissioner, noting that members of the pen profession in the state are ready to work hand-in-hand with him to ensure accurate, timely, and effective dissemination of government activities and policies to the people.
Describing the appointment as a “round peg in a round hole,” the NUJ urged Mr Ajanaku to build a robust and mutually respectful relationship with journalists across the state to promote transparency, accountability, and public trust.
