The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Olamide Oladiji, has dismissed claims circulating on social media that he failed to secure his polling unit for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the gubernatorial election held on Saturday, November 16.
In a statement personally signed by the Speaker and made available to the media today, he described the reports as malicious, false, and a product of the imagination of those spreading such rumours.
The Speaker clarified that his polling unit, Sasere Unit 5, Ward 9, in Ondo East Local Government Area, was won convincingly by the APC for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
According to the official INEC result uploaded on the IREV database, APC secured 174 votes, while PDP garnered 61 votes.
Rt. Hon. Oladiji urged the public to disregard the false claims, labeling them as a politically motivated attempt to tarnish his image.
“My attention has been drawn to some sponsored reports on social media, falsely claiming that I lost my polling unit to the opposition. This is a total fallacy.
“For clarity, the APC won my polling unit, ward, and local government in Saturday’s gubernatorial election. The figures are verifiable on the official INEC result sheet,” the Speaker stated.

He further called on those propagating such misinformation to desist from divisive actions and focus on moving the state forward.
“Apparently, this is the handiwork of fifth columnists determined to damage my reputation. However, I remain committed to contributing to the development of my constituency, Ondo State, and Nigeria at large. I will not be deterred or distracted by these baseless attacks,” he added.
The Speaker reassured his constituents and the people of Ondo State of his unwavering dedication to fostering harmony and driving progress in the state.
