It was a moment of pride and celebration on Wednesday at the Owena Cantonment Officers’ Mess, Akure, as officers, family members and friends gathered for the investiture ceremony of two senior officers of the 32 Artillery Brigade who were recently promoted from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel in the Nigerian Army.

Speaking during the colourful event, Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, congratulated the newly promoted officers on their well-deserved elevation and urged them to sustain the tempo of hard work, loyalty and professionalism that earned them the recognition.

He commended their dedication to duty and reminded them that promotion comes with greater responsibilities.

“You must sustain the tempo and remain loyal and committed to the ideals of the Nigerian Army. Your hard work has paid off, but you must continue to serve with integrity and diligence,” he said.

Brigadier General Ifeanyi also appreciated the spouses of the newly promoted officers for their sacrifices and support in maintaining stability on the home front, which he noted had provided an enabling environment for the officers to perform effectively.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Colonel A.Y. Ardo expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy of elevation and to the Brigade Commander for his mentorship and leadership.

He pledged their collective loyalty to the Nigerian Army and commitment to uphold the responsibilities that come with their new ranks.

The newly promoted officers are Colonel A.Y. Ardo and Colonel M.H. Gombe.

The ceremony was attended by senior military personnel, family members, friends and well-wishers who joined in celebrating the officers’ achievement.
