Sunshine Stars and Queens have been handed a brand-new dream team at the top, as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa swings into action to end the slump and put Ondo football back in the premier-league spotlight.
In a dramatic shake-up, the Governor has unveiled a five-man management committee for the Ondo State Football Agency, pledging to end the losing streak and restore the clubs’ fearsome reputation.
Leading the charge is Divine Ogbonnaya as General Manager, flanked by Segun Joseph, Awosakin Iluyomade (Football Association representative), Iyabo Ajanaku, and Dapo Ajibade, a marketing whizz expected to score big in sponsorship deals.
Operating directly under the Governor’s office, the committee will run the affairs of Sunshine Stars FC, Sunshine Queens FC, and the Sunshine Stars Under-19 squad, with orders to dig deep into the clubs’ problems and turn the tide fast.
“This is more than football, it’s about pride, performance and putting Ondo back where it belongs in Nigerian sports,” Aiyedatiwa declared.
Fans, who have endured seasons of frustration, will be hoping this fresh team can turn the dressing-room mood from gloom to glory and send the Sunshine clubs blazing back to the top leagues where they belong.
