President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in the early hours of Monday to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level continental gathering focused on economic transformation, regional cooperation and sustainable development across Africa.
The President’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time.
Tinubu was received on arrival by Musalia Mudavadi, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.
The summit, jointly hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, is expected to bring together African leaders, policymakers, business executives, development partners and global stakeholders to discuss strategies for accelerating growth and development across the continent.
According to the Presidency, President Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to promoting African unity, deepening economic cooperation and strengthening strategic partnerships aimed at driving sustainable development.
The summit is expected to focus on issues including trade expansion, infrastructure development, digital innovation, climate resilience, investment opportunities and collective prosperity for African nations.
During the event, Tinubu is also expected to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with other leaders and stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations within Africa and beyond.
The Presidency noted that the visit aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its commitment to advancing Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges through strategic international engagement.
The President is accompanied on the trip by several cabinet members and senior government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
Other members of the delegation include Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Director General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
