The remains of Pa Ademola Moradeyo, father of TVC News’ Ondo State correspondent, Ayodeji Moradeyo, have been laid to rest in an emotional ceremony filled with heartfelt tributes.
The burial, held at the late patriarch’s residence in Omowumi Olorunsogo, Ibadan, was attended by family, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to honour his legacy.
Delivering a sermon at the service, Pastor Oluwasegun Akinsola of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries described death as an inevitable journey for all.
He praised Pa Moradeyo’s dedication to God and humanity, urging his children to uphold his values.
“Baba Ademola Moradeyo was a man of faith and service. He devoted his resources to both God and his community. He was humble, diligent, and unwavering in his commitment,” Pastor Akinsola said.
He also encouraged those in attendance to live with eternity in mind, dedicating their lives and resources to God.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Ayodeji Moradeyo described his late father as a disciplinarian with a compassionate heart, committed to education and moral values.
“My father was a rare gem. He ensured we all received a quality education and instilled in us the importance of prayer and integrity,” he said.
Pa David Ademola Moradeyo was born on August 16, 1940 to Pa Chief Jacob Popoola Moradeyo, Baale of Jooda, and Mama Deborah Alari Moradeyo. He received his early education at Saint Paul Primary School, Elegbeda, before attending Modern School, Erunmu, and later Igbogila High School in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Determined to advance his career, he pursued professional accounting qualifications and became a certified accountant.
He began his professional journey at Anglican Primary School, Kutayi, before joining the Nigerian Tribune as an accountant.
His expertise later led him to Pascal and Hudwig in Bodija, and in 1973, he joined Soleh Boneh Group of Companies, where he rose through the ranks to become chief accountant before retiring in 1995 after 22 years of service.
Pa Moradeyo married the late Mummy Alice Olaitan Moradeyo in 1969, and together they raised five children.
A devoted Christian, he was an active member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and served two terms as Chairman of the Omowumi Labosinde Community Development Association.
A respected leader and dedicated family man, Pa Moradeyo passed away on January 15, at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and integrity.
