Protest: Gov Aiyedatiwa praises Ondo residents for peaceful disposition

Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has expressed his gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their peaceful behaviour during the Thursday nationwide protests.

The Governor was happy that despite the widespread demonstrations across the country, Ondo State remained calm, with residents going about their daily activities without any security incidents.

Governor Aiyedatiwa who spoke Thursday evening, commended the people for heeding his calls for understanding, calm, and restraint, saying their peaceful nature has once again showcased why Ondo State is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

In a message to the people, the Governor thanked various groups, including students, youths, women, artisans, public servants, and civil society organizations, for maintaining the peace.

He also appreciated the roles of traditional rulers, religious leaders, labour leaders, and security agencies in ensuring the state’s tranquility.

Aiyedatiwa assured the people that his administration would continue to work towards providing relief and cushioning the effects of economic challenges.

He promised that various policies, initiatives, and projects across sectors would be implemented in the coming weeks and months to improve the lives of residents.

The Governor’s praise comes as a testament to the peaceful disposition of Ondo State residents, who have chosen to maintain calm and orderliness despite the nationwide protests.
