The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Abayomi Oladipo, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christian faithful across the state, emphasising the season’s importance as a time for family, reflection, and renewal.
While recognising Christmas as a spiritual celebration, the CP called on all residents to embrace the values of love, peace, and tolerance that the festive season embodies.
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, as part of efforts to ensure a safe and peaceful Yuletide, CP Oladipo has issued directives for the implementation of the December Operation Order.
This security plan will be executed under the leadership of Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Heads of Tactical Units across Ondo State.
The operation is designed to enhance public safety during the festive period through visible policing and rapid response measures.
Key elements of the Operation Order include the deployment of patrol teams to strategic locations such as places of worship during Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the following days.
Intelligence and tactical units will also be on standby to address emergencies swiftly, ensuring the safety of residents and visitors.
Travellers within Ondo State and those using its highways as transit routes are reassured of their security.
Specialised units such as the Federal Highway Patrol, Safer Highway Patrol, Rapid Response Squad, and Fast Strike Team have been reorganised and placed on high alert to address potential security concerns promptly.
These measures aim to maintain smooth and safe travel for all road users throughout the festive period.
In addition to these proactive steps, the CP has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or movements within their communities to the police or other relevant security agencies.
He emphasised the importance of community cooperation in maintaining a secure environment during the celebrations.
The Ondo State Police Command used the opportunity to assure residents of a peaceful and joyous Christmas season, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
