Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday dismissed members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who supported his expulsion at the party’s 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, describing them as “intoxicated”.
Wike’s reaction was contained in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
The statement read: “They went to Ibadan to start dirty December in November. When people decide to start their own dirty December in November, one can’t but ignore whatever comes out of their mouths.
“They gathered in Ibadan to do social party, enjoyed themselves and got intoxicated; they are free to say anything.”
Wike maintained that the actions and pronouncements of the delegates who endorsed his expulsion were of no consequence to him, insisting that the convention amounted to little more than a frivolous gathering.
