Ondo State Police Command has announced a series of security and traffic measures ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, ensuring a smooth and secure event for all attendees.
Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, on Sunday ordered the deployment of personnel and strategic security arrangements around the venue to maintain order and public safety.
In a statement signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Commissioner stated that as part of these measures, police escorts attached to VIPs will not be allowed to enter the venue with rifles, though they may remain stationed in designated areas around the stadium perimeter.
The command also urged commuters who frequently use routes near the venue to consider alternative roads to ease traffic congestion.
Additionally, vehicle owners who usually park around the stadium have been strongly advised to use safer parking locations to prevent obstruction, congestion, or potential damage to their cars.
The statement noted that all security agencies will be fully on ground to enforce compliance with these directives.
The police command further appealed to the public to cooperate with the guidelines to ensure a peaceful and orderly ceremony.
