Gov Adeleke vows to punish any appointee who mismanage, steal public funds in Osun

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has vowed to punish any political appointee or officials who mismanage or steal public funds in the state.

He made this commitment while signing a memorandum of understanding with the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, at the Government House in Osogbo, on Monday.

Adeleke emphasized his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption and pledged to sack and hand over any erring officials to the ICPC for prosecution.

He highlighted his government’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in managing public funds, including the implementation of a multi-billion naira infrastructure agenda, rigorous vetting in financial approval processes, and enforcement of procurement laws.

Responding, the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, commended the Governor’s commitment to anti-corruption efforts and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the commission and the state government to combat corruption and promote good governance.

He noted that the partnership will enhance existing quality assurance and expand anti-corruption infrastructure in Osun State.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding marks a significant step in the fight against corruption in Osun State, and both parties have expressed their determination to work together to ensure the success of the partnership.
