A devastating fire incident occurred at Lagere Junction in Ile-Ife, Osun State, razing six shops and causing widespread destruction.

The fire started around 3am on Tuesday, triggering panic among residents.

Shops with lights left on overnight were engulfed in flames, resulting in the loss of properties, including phones, clothing, building materials, shoes, and other items.

The fire’s impact was severe, with one shop owner, who wished to remain anonymous, sharing his heartbreaking experience.

The owner, who had just purchased shoes the previous day, was left in tears, saying, “This is a heartbreaking day for me. I had just invested in new stock, and now everything has been destroyed by the fire.”

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but reports suggest it may be linked to the recent restoration of electricity in the area.

The incident has left traders counting their losses and facing an uncertain future.
