Breaking News: Gov Aiyedatiwa appoints Pa Fasoranti’s son as SSG, names Commissioners, others

Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of first son of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Dr Taiwo, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The appointment of Dr Taiwo Fasoranti marks Aiyedatiwa’s first official move after assuming office as the 7th democratically elected Governor of the state.

In a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, it was stated that the appointment was announced shortly after Governor Aiyedatiwa resumed work in his office on Monday, minutes after his swearing-in ceremony.

Dr Fasoranti, who hails from Akure South Local Government Area, previously served as the Chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board.

He is to succeed the late SSG, Temitayo Oluwatuyi popularly known as Tuykana, who died in auto accident in December, 2024.

In a further demonstration of continuity and stability in governance, the Governor also reappointed Dr Kayode Ajulo, SAN, as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs Omowunmi Isaac as Commissioner for Finance.

Additionally, the Governor retained several Special Advisers in key sectors, including:

Engr. Johnson Alabi – Special Adviser on Power

Dr Seun Osamaye – Special Adviser on Women Affairs

Comrade Bola Taiwo – Special Adviser on Union Matters & Special Duties

Prof Simidele Odimayo – Special Adviser on Health

Furthermore, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, previously serving as the Senior Special Assistant on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, has been elevated to the position of Special Adviser in the same portfolio.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has directed all appointees to immediately swing into action, stressing the need for efficient service delivery and innovative governance that will advance the development agenda of Ondo State.

“These appointments are strategic and aimed at ensuring seamless governance. The people of Ondo State deserve the best, and I expect all of you to hit the ground running in delivering quality service to our citizens,” the Governor said.

The statement added that the appointments take immediate effect, reinforcing Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to stability, continuity, and development in Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had hinted during the World Press Conference at Araromi Seaside, Ilaje Local Government on Saturday, that he will announce his first appointments on his first day in office.
