The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of 47 senatorial aspirants disqualified from participating in the party’s Senate primary elections across several states of the federation.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, said the affected aspirants failed to scale through the screening process conducted by the party’s Screening Committees.

According to the statement, the exercise was carried out in line with the party’s established procedures and guidelines ahead of the primaries.

Among prominent political figures listed as “not cleared” are former senator and media entrepreneur, Ben Murray-Bruce, from Bayelsa East Senatorial District, alongside Senator Benson Agadaga and several other aspirants from states including Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.

The list also includes notable Rivers State politicians such as Banigo Ipalibo, Jack-Rich Tein T.S, and Chief Barry Balera Mwara, while multiple aspirants from Zamfara State were similarly disqualified.

In Oyo State, aspirants affected include Ademola Wasiu Alli, Ajimobi Wasiu Adegboyega, Kolapoboye Kola Daisi, and Ambassador Pastor Akinremi Alade Bolaji.

The APC, however, did not disclose specific reasons for the disqualification of each aspirant.

Party sources said the development may trigger fresh political consultations and possible appeals by affected aspirants ahead of the Monday primaries.
