After 35 years of distinguished service, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Abiodun Asabi, has officially retired from the Nigeria Police Force.
His remarkable career was celebrated with a grand pull-out parade and retirement ceremony, honouring his invaluable contributions to law enforcement.
Born on April 16, 1965, AIG Asabi joined the force in 1990 and served in various capacities across multiple commands and formations.
Throughout his career, he displayed unwavering dedication, professionalism, and leadership, earning him widespread respect among colleagues and the public.
His tenure as AIG of Zone 17 saw significant reforms, including the construction of a modern cell facility and the completion of the Zonal Chapel, both of which enhanced policing efforts in Ondo and Ekiti States.
The retirement ceremony, held at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade in Akure, was attended by top government officials, Commissioners of Police from Ondo and Ekiti States, senior officers from security agencies, traditional rulers, family members, and well-wishers.
Speakers at the event lauded AIG Asabi’s commitment to crime prevention, community engagement, and police welfare, describing him as an exemplary officer whose leadership has left a lasting impact.
The Nigeria Police Force expressed deep appreciation for his selfless service and sacrifices, wishing him good health, success, and fulfillment in his future endeavours.
As AIG Abiodun Asabi steps into retirement, his legacy of integrity, dedication, and excellence will continue to inspire generations of officers to come.
