Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amidst recent internal conflicts.
Speaking at the Ondo State PDP governorship election rally in Akure on Tuesday, Adeleke emphasised that the PDP is a strong family, urging party members to support the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, in the November 16 election.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State echoed Adeleke’s message, encouraging Ondo people to demonstrate their love for good governance by voting for the PDP candidate.
Makinde highlighted the PDP’s ability to deliver democratic dividends to Nigerians.
Senator Bala Muhammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, announced that the party has resolved its internal conflicts, calling on the public to rerecognise the PDP’s strength and unity.
The acting Chairman, Usman Damagun, and former Ebonyi Governor, Sam Egwu, also addressed the crowd of supporters, with Egwu urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure free and fair elections across Nigeria.
This rally comes amidst Nigeria’s economic crisis, with protests against the soaring cost of living and fuel subsidy removal.
The PDP’s show of unity aims to reassure Nigerians of their commitment to good governance and democratic principles.
