Tinubu not architect of current problems – First Lady

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, emphasising that the current problems facing the nation were not caused by her husband.

Speaking to journalists after commissioning a 2.7-kilometer road project at Obafemi Awolowo University, named after her, she expressed optimism about the country’s future.

“We are just less than two years into our administration, and we are working to fix and secure the future,” she said.

Remi Tinubu highlighted the importance of hard work, encouraging youths to tap into their creativity and take advantage of government initiatives .

She also mentioned the removal of subsidy, but assured that with divine support, Nigeria will prosper within the next two years.

The First Lady praised international interest in doing business with Nigeria, citing the accountable government as a draw.

She emphasised teaching youths the value of hard work, as it is the antidote to poverty.

Mrs Tinubu shared personal experiences, including a clothing project that empowered a 25-year-old designer and provided 200,000 free garments to Nigerians.

Tinubu encouraged patience, pointing to Lagos’ transformation under her husband’s leadership.

According to her: “Nigeria will be great and sweet again.”

The First Lady expressed gratitude for her position and promised not to disappoint Nigerians, thanking the Ooni of Ife for his support.
