APC releases 2027 election timetable, fixes presidential form at N100m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for the conduct of its primaries and the cost of nomination forms for aspirants.

Details of the schedule were contained in a document signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will commence at the party’s National Secretariat on Saturday, April 25, 2026, and close on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The party fixed the cost of its presidential nomination form at N100 million, while governorship aspirants are to pay N50 million.

Senate forms were pegged at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and State House of Assembly forms at N6 million.

The schedule also provides timelines for screening exercises, appeals processes, and the conduct of primary elections across all elective positions.

Presidential primaries are slated for Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Primaries for the House of Representatives will hold on Monday, May 18, followed by the Senate on Wednesday, May 20.

State House of Assembly primaries are scheduled for Thursday, May 21, while governorship primaries will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

In a statement accompanying the release, signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party assured members and stakeholders of its commitment to a credible and transparent primary process.

The party said the outlined activities are designed to strengthen internal democracy and ensure the emergence of candidates through a fair and competitive process.

The APC also reaffirmed its resolve to consolidate its progressive ideals while preparing for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the timetable would provide a clear and structured pathway for aspirants and party officials alike.
