Following Friday’s court order restraining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its planned national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended four senior officials for one month.

Those affected include the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu; Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature.

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the NWC held on Saturday at the party’s Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.

Announcing the development, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the suspension followed a review of the court ruling and deliberations on recent developments within the party.

He explained that the action was aimed at preserving internal discipline and ensuring due process in the face of the legal setback affecting the forthcoming convention.
