Celebrated journalist, Ayodeji Moradeyo of TVC News has been honoured with the Media Man of the Year award at the 18th edition of the Hero’s Magazine Honours, held at the International Culture and Events Centre, Akure, popularly known as The Dome.
Moradeyo, who was one of nine distinguished Nigerians recognised at the colourful ceremony, received the award in recognition of his contributions to journalism spanning over two decades.
The event was chaired by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Olu of Ilu Abo, Oba Olu Falae, who underscored the importance of celebrating excellence and warned against society’s tendency to downplay significant achievements.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, congratulated the recipients and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing human and capital resources, while also assuring of improved security across Ondo State.
Moradeyo’s career began in 2003 as a correspondent with Galaxy Television in Ogun State before moving to Ondo.
In 2006, he transitioned into print journalism with the now-defunct National Mirror Newspaper, and later contributed to 235Next, Niger Delta Standard, and National Life Newspaper.

He joined TVC Communications 14 years ago, where he continues to make his mark as a respected broadcast journalist.
Other honourees at the event included Mr. Femi Meshe, Managing Director of Atlas Energy Limited, who was named Ondo State Man of the Year 2025; Mr. Akinola Folajimi, Personality of the Year in Human Capacity Development; Mr. Olasetemi Bode Thompson, Outstanding Personality of the Year in Human Resources Development; Engr. Adigun, Pillar of Education Man of the Year; Prince Adedeji Adesida, Community Development Influencer of the Year 2023; Mr. Ajayi Oluwafemi Michael, Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year; Mr. Simon Adegun, Personality in Education of the Year 2025; and Mr. Adebiyi Alex Adedipe, Outstanding Business Personality of the Year 2025.
The organisers said the recipients emerged through a rigorous screening and voting process aimed at celebrating excellence, leadership, and service to humanity.
Dignitaries present included the Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye; the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi; the Ondo State Attorney General, Dr. Kayode Ajulo; Managing Director of Benin Owena River Basin Authority, Dr. Femi Adekanmbi; and the Founder of Dorian Home for Charity and Social Development, Dr. Tolulola Bayode.
