234 New Police Constables pass out in Ondo

A new batch of 234 police constables has officially joined the ranks of the Nigeria Police Force after successfully completing six months of rigorous training at the Police Training School in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State.

The passing-out ceremony, held on Thursday, was marked by a grand parade, a march past, and the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, represented at the event by AIG Zone 17, AIG Abiodun Asabi, charged the newly minted officers with upholding professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to duty.

He underscored the weight of their new responsibilities, reminding them that adherence to the rule of law and ethical standards is the bedrock of effective policing.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Rafiu Adebayo, Commandant of the Police Training School, also addressed the recruits, urging them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force.

He emphasised the significance of community policing as a globally recognised best practice and warned against corruption, calling on the young officers to maintain high moral standards throughout their careers.

The ceremony was graced by key security stakeholders, including the Commissioner of Police for Ondo State, CP Wilfred Afolabi, and the representative of the Police Service Commission Chairman, Mr Olumide Sodeinde, Director of Recruitment.
