A massive turnout of voters was recorded at Unit 008, Ataoja B 2, Ward 2, Osogbo, as residents trooped out early to exercise their franchise in the Osun State governorship election.
A 62-year-old master baker, Tiamiyu Basiru Oyebode, said he arrived at the polling unit as early as 6:00 a.m., commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security operatives for their performance.

“INEC and security operatives performed to our expectations. People came out to exercise their franchise willingly. We know that our choice will prevail in this unit,” he said.
Also speaking, 50-year-old Mrs Makinde Lateefat said the voting process had been smooth since she arrived at the polling unit.
“Things have been smooth since we got to our unit to vote. There has been no act of thuggery or disruption of the process since we’ve been here,” she said.

She expressed confidence that the candidate preferred by voters at the unit would emerge victorious at the end of the exercise.
