Tinubu wins APC presidential primary with over 10.9 million votes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 presidential election after winning the party’s nationwide primary election.

The final results of the primary were declared on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, following the exercise conducted across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday.

Tinubu polled 10,999,967 votes to defeat his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, who secured 16,504 votes.

Osifo reportedly failed to secure votes in 21 states and the FCT, while he polled only one vote in Edo State.

His highest votes came from Niger State with 5,248 votes, Kano State with 2,675 votes, Bauchi State with 2,650 votes and Abia State with 1,007 votes.

Tinubu recorded overwhelming victories across the country, dominating the exercise in virtually all the states.

In Lagos State, the President polled 814,988 votes, while he secured 644,149 votes in Adamawa State and 618,914 votes in Kaduna State.

He also garnered 582,960 votes in Imo State, 500,852 votes in Kano State, 467,003 votes in Katsina State and 450,517 votes in Gombe State.

Other states where the President recorded significant votes include Borno with 414,988 votes, Delta with 407,646 votes, Akwa Ibom with 389,197 votes, Enugu with 383,382 votes and Benue with 374,787 votes.

In the South-West, Tinubu secured 322,485 votes in Ogun State, 181,996 votes in Ondo State, 142,754 votes in Oyo State, 100,888 votes in Osun State and 85,340 votes in Ekiti State.

He also polled 310,990 votes in Kwara State, 301,000 votes in Sokoto State, 292,972 votes in Kebbi State and 285,436 votes in Nasarawa State.

The President further secured 280,082 votes in Rivers State, 253,804 votes in Yobe State, 241,720 votes in Plateau State and 227,192 votes in Bayelsa State.

APC officials said the conduct of the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy and grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The results also showed Tinubu’s dominance across all geopolitical zones, with party leaders describing the outcome as a vote of confidence in his leadership and administration.
