President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday reaffirmed his commitment to delivering a stable, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria, declaring that he would not disappoint citizens as his administration pushes ahead with sweeping political and economic reforms.

Speaking at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, the President said his government remains focused on restructuring the nation’s economic and governance systems to promote inclusive growth and broaden opportunities for all Nigerians, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

Tinubu stated that longstanding structural challenges undermining national prosperity are being systematically addressed through ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the economy for full citizen participation.

He emphasised that the success of these efforts depends largely on public engagement and collective national resolve.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and several state governors including Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Mohammed Inuwa (Gombe), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Monday Okpebholo (Edo) and Uba Sani (Kaduna).

A number of former governors and political leaders were also present, among them Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim and APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru.

Addressing the delegation, the President urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation efforts, noting that citizens must be actively involved in shaping their future for the country to achieve sustainable development.

“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” Tinubu said, while assuring that his administration would uphold democratic principles, including the rule of law, separation of powers and respect for citizens’ rights.

He stressed that Nigeria’s path to national greatness lies in unity and a shared vision for progress, insisting that his government would not be deterred by criticism or opposition.

The President also cautioned Nigerians against misinformation, urging them to remain focused on the long-term benefits of ongoing reforms.

Reiterating his resolve, Tinubu said his administration would continue to prioritise youth empowerment, economic expansion and inclusive governance to ensure that every Nigerian has a stake in the country’s future.

Earlier, Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, briefed the President on the group’s nationwide activities, revealing that structures had been established down to the grassroots, including local governments, wards and polling units, with ongoing data-driven mobilisation across markets, schools, professional bodies and faith-based organisations.

He commended Tinubu’s leadership and assured him of the group’s commitment to advancing the administration’s policies and programmes across the country.

Also speaking, former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, described the President as a courageous reformer, acknowledging the initial challenges associated with major policy shifts but insisting that the long-term benefits would outweigh the current difficulties.

Masari said political leaders in the North-West remain firmly behind the administration and would embark on tours of federal projects in the region to raise public awareness of government interventions.

The APC National Chairman, Yilwatda, also praised Tinubu’s infrastructural drive and reform agenda, noting that state governors across the country had attested to the impact of ongoing projects.

Other dignitaries, including former Governor Okowa, former Senate President Anyim, and Governors Uba Sani and Abiodun Oyebanji, delivered goodwill messages, commending the President’s leadership and reaffirming support for his administration’s vision.
