Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has emphasized the importance of collaboration between security agencies to protect border communities in the state.

He made this statement while hosting Military personnel led by Major General Obinna Godwin Onuborgu, General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Nigerian Army, in his office in Akure on Wednesday.

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s efforts to ensure optimal security through support from conventional security agencies, including the Army.

He also requested maximum security during the scheduled November 16 Governorship election in the state.

Major General Onuborgu, who recently took over the Division covering 7 states, including Ondo, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his support to the Army and other security agencies, which has contributed to Ondo State being one of the most peaceful states in the country.

The meeting was attended by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff to the Governor, and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
