Amid escalating political wrangling allegedly spearheaded by some unidentified aides of the Ondo State Governor, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Mr Moyosola Niran-Oladunni, has urged for restraint and called on political actors to desist from distracting the Governor.

He emphasised the need to prioritise governance and the delivery of campaign promises over infighting.
Expressing dismay at the growing distrust within the Governor’s team, Niran-Oladunni described the agitation against the Commissioner for Finance as baseless and counterproductive.
According to him, such actions are a diversion from the administration’s developmental agenda and undermine the cohesion needed to achieve progress.
Niran-Oladunni underscored that the Governor retains the constitutional authority to appoint or remove officials at his discretion and cautioned that pressuring him to take certain actions would only derail the administration’s goals.
He remarked: “The call for the removal of the Commissioner for Finance is totally uncalled for. It only suggests that the needed cohesion amongst the team members to support Mr Governor in delivering on his electoral promises is not total.”
The APC chieftain criticised what he referred to as “political immaturity” from certain disgruntled and sacked aides who have resorted to fuelling media attacks against the Finance Commissioner.
He argued that such undue interference in governance matters is unhealthy and detrimental to the state’s progress.
Calling for a change in attitude, Niran-Oladunni advised those involved in the ongoing political disputes to seek productive engagements outside of politics, stressing that politics should be viewed as a platform for service rather than a lifelong profession.
He stated that: “Our people should learn how to be tolerant. The challenge with most of our players in Ondo State is redundancy. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. A greater number of our people are redundant. They are jobless. Hence, they have all the time to be planning how to pull others down. People should get busy and find something to do. Politics is a pastime and not a profession as most people take it these days.”
He called on all political actors and citizens to rally behind the Governor and support the implementation of his policies.
Niran-Oladunni stressed that unity and cooperation are essential to ensuring the administration fulfills its promises to the people and delivers tangible development.
