As the cold war between Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa thickens, the state House of Assembly on Wednesday initiated impeachment process against the Deputy Governor.
The House in its decision, directed the Clerk, Jaiyeola Benjamin to write Lucky Ayedatiwa over an allegation of gross misconduct levelled against him.
The petition which has so far been signed by nine out of the 26-Member House, was read during the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji.
The majority leader of the House had quoted section 188 of the Nigerian constitution to back up the need to write the Deputy Governor, for him to respond to the allegation pending before the assembly, it was seconded by a lawmaker representing Akoko South West 2, Tope Agbulu.
The notice of motion was read by the Clerk of the House.
It will be recalled that the House led by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji had few days ago denied taking any step to serve impeachment notice on the embattled Deputy Governor.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa also denied the rumour of his alleged plan to resign from his position as the Ondo State Deputy Governor.
