Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the recruitment of a wide range of healthcare personnel into the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board (HMB), in a move aimed at strengthening service delivery across public health facilities in the state.
The approval, which covers multiple professional and support cadres, was granted to the Chairman and Board members of the Hospitals Management Board, with positions spanning entry-level to specialised medical roles.
According to details made available by a member of the Board, Hon. (Nurse) Patience Arinola Adamolekun, the recruitment will include Medical Officers on Grade Level 13, alongside Nurses across different qualifications—Bachelor of Nursing Science (GL 10), Registered Nurse/Midwife (GL 08), and Registered Nurse (GL 07).
Other key professional roles approved for recruitment include Pharmacists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Optometrists and Physiotherapists, all on Grade Level 10.
Health Information Officers with university degrees are to be employed on Grade Level 08, alongside Radiographers, Scientific Officers—such as Microbiologists and Clinical Scientists—and Public Health Officers.
The approval also extends to administrative and technical positions, including Executive Officers (GL 08), Dental Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, Health Information Management Technicians, X-ray Technicians, and Medical Laboratory Technicians, all on Grade Level 07.
In addition, junior and support staff positions have been approved, including Clerical Officers (GL 04), Health Attendants (GL 02), and other essential service personnel such as Maintenance Officers, Messengers, Security staff and Gardeners, also on Grade Level 02.
The development signals a significant expansion of the state’s healthcare workforce, at a time when many public health institutions face manpower shortages and increasing demand for services.
Prospective applicants have been advised to visit the Hospitals Management Board office in Alagbaka, Akure, to submit their names ahead of the official recruitment exercise.
Authorities indicated that while a formal advertisement and application forms will be released in due course, a preliminary register is already being compiled.
The state government has yet to announce the timeline for the full commencement of the recruitment process, but officials say further details will be communicated through an official public notice.
