AIYEDATIWA CHARGES OSOPADEC CHAIRMAN TO DELIVER DEVELOPMENT TO OIL-PRODUCING AREAS

 

Ondo Governor expresses confidence in Poroye, urges visible impact across mandate areas

 

AKURE — Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has charged the newly appointed Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, to prioritise effective service delivery and ensure visible transformation in the lives of people in the state’s oil-producing communities.

 

The Governor gave the charge on Saturday, 12 July 2025, at a reception organised in honour of the OSOPADEC Chairman by friends and associates. He described Poroye as a capable and intellectually sound leader, urging him to make a measurable difference in every sector within the commission’s mandate areas.

 

“Let the people feel the impact of the commission. Let them see the result of our efforts. Your work must reflect in their daily lives,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said, adding that his confidence in Prince Poroye’s capacity to deliver is unwavering. He further called on other board members to give their full support to ensure the success of the commission’s developmental objectives.

 

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, praised the Governor for his focus on development and for appointing Poroye to lead OSOPADEC. He described the chairman as a transparent and result-driven individual, certain to live up to expectations.

 

The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, also commended the Governor’s choice, stating that Poroye possesses the competence and passion to make a real difference in the lives of the people in the oil-producing areas.

 

In his response, Prince Biyi Poroye thanked the Governor and dignitaries for their support and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

 

“I am fully aware of the responsibilities before me, and I assure our people that I will not betray this trust. I will work with dedication and transparency to deliver the development they deserve,” Poroye said.

 

The event was well attended by top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiola Makinde; Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu; political appointees, community leaders, and other dignitaries.

 

The occasion served as both a celebration and a rallying call for development in Ondo State’s oil-bearing communities, with Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterating his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and grassroots impact.
