Adelegbe’s Legacy: Transforming lives in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency

The National Assembly Member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, has reiterated his commitment to uplifting lives through numerous impactful projects.

Addressing journalists at the NUJ Press Centre, Old Alagbaka, Akure on Sunday, the ranking lawmaker reflected on his five-year tenure, highlighting the extensive developments executed across various sectors in his constituency.

Adelegbe outlined a range of completed and ongoing initiatives, including school renovations, skill acquisition centres, and bursary awards for students.

In agriculture, he disclosed that he has empowered farmers with the distribution of over 100,000 improved cocoa seedlings, 200 water pumps, and more than 2,500 weed-spraying pumps and chemicals, ensuring increased productivity through modern farming techniques.

He stated that in economic empowerment, thousands of market women, youths, and artisans have benefited from financial aid, work tools, and business grants aimed at stimulating economic growth.

The lawmaker proudly disclosed that over 150 youths had received training in fish farming, complete with starter packs and financial support of N30,000 each.

Furthermore, over 500 sewing machines, 350 generators, 300 hair dryers, 350 motorcycles, and 200 head dryers were distributed to facilitate self-employment.

Cash grants ranging from N20,000 to N100,000 were awarded to over 3,000 beneficiaries, significantly boosting small-scale enterprises.

Infrastructure development has also been a focal point, with road grading, bridge construction, and solar-powered initiatives enhancing connectivity and community development.

Adelegbe’s commitment extends to sports and healthcare, evidenced by the construction of two stadiums, a diagnostic centre, and a new health facility within Owo and Ose Local Government Areas.

He reassured his constituents that all ongoing projects would be completed and new ones initiated to ensure no community was left behind.

Recognising the security challenges faced in parts of his constituency, Adelegbe disclosed that a local security guard initiative had been established to enhance safety.

He also lauded National Assembly members from Ondo State for their efforts in securing federal projects, such as the upgrade of Adeyemi College of Education to a university, the dualisation of Ore-Ondo-Akure Road, and the establishment of the FUTA Teaching Hospital and a College of Aviation.

Expressing gratitude to the people of his constituency for their unwavering support, Adelegbe pledged to remain steadfast in delivering dividends of democracy, ensuring sustained development and prosperity for all.

The press briefing saw the attendance of prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, including the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, who commended Adelegbe’s dedication to the welfare of his constituents.

He described the lawmaker as a distinguished representative whose numerous empowerment programmes have significantly improved lives in Owo and Ose.
